About Us

Bristol Retirement Council has been in existence since 1974, and since then has produced well over a thousand Pre-Retirement Courses for many local employers.

It was formally inaugurated at the Bristol Council House, presided over by the Lord Mayor of Bristol, the late Councilor Bert Peglar. Since then, each succeeding Lord Mayor has acted as the Retirement Council's President during his or her turn of office.

The Council organises about thirty pre-retirement courses each year for a cross section of local companies and organisations, including Bristol City Council, various Health Authorities, Rolls-Royce plc, BAe Systems and others.

In addition, we offer Open Courses at Fry Club, Keynsham for people not included on large company courses. These have proved very popular and delegates attend from companies as far afield as Devon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and even the London area.
